The scheduler is a heuristic, not a promise

The spaced-repetition math on this site — a documented SM-2 variant — schedules reviews at intervals designed to keep recall near a useful band. It does not and cannot guarantee you will remember anything: retention depends on card quality, honest grading, session regularity and the material itself. “The algorithm said I was due” is a scheduling fact, not a learning outcome.

You grade yourself — act accordingly

Grades are self-reported. The site faithfully applies whatever you press, including grades that flatter your memory. For anything high-stakes — exams, certifications, professional requirements — verify mastery with independent assessment, not a green progress ring.

Content in the sample decks

The bundled Spanish-vocabulary and world-capitals decks are provided as starter material and are checked for ordinary accuracy, but language usage varies by region and political geography changes. Treat sample decks as study scaffolding, not an authority — your textbook, teacher or official curriculum wins any disagreement.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is educational, psychological or medical advice. Study-strategy articles describe general, well-replicated findings; they are not prescriptions for any individual’s learning needs, and they are no substitute for guidance from a teacher or specialist who knows your situation.

Availability and data

The site is provided without warranty of uptime or error-free operation. Because your decks live in your browser’s storage, browser behavior — cleared site data, storage quotas, private-window eviction — can destroy them without any involvement of ours. Keep CSV exports of decks you can’t afford to rewrite.

Advertising

The site may display third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) to cover hosting. Advertisers have no say in the scheduler, the articles or the sample decks.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlashDeck and its maintainers are not liable for losses arising from use of the site — including poor recall on exam day, lost decks, or decisions made on the strength of a progress ring.
